For like the last 5 years his strategy just seems to be to announce his crimes outloud so they don’t seem like a big deal to his supporters. Then from there his supporters do the heavy lifting and claim that prosecuting him is only politically motivated so we shouldn’t prosecute despite overwhelming evidence straight from the horses mouth.

Works until everyone records everything you say.

Ever wonder why that governor he called about the election was recording it? He knew ahead of time.

It’s just a strategy pivot. He went from being a successful business fraudster, which requires laying low, to a leader of a popular movement, which most definitely does not involve laying low. Quite the opposite.

Since he’s already caught, staying silent gains him nothing. He needs some kind of popular revolt to have any hope of saving his ass. So that’s what he’s doing.
