This is just dumb… Might as well just outlaw cars in Manhattan so the city can build housing. There is absolutely no advantage to having a car in NYC… you drive 15mph, and have to stop 10 minutes every block
There’s already congestion pricing, it’s just paid for in time, not $.
One criticism I saw for the plan was they were only deploying it in the wealthiest parts of the city which would just shove the traffic to the poorer areas.
Traffic is about destination.
Too many people drive to destinations on the most densely populated island in the USA. 72k people per square mile and dipshit Dan from Nowhereville can drive his car right into it without any concern about the traffic he is.
The only drivers in Manhattan should be driving as a job. Bus drivers, some taxis, delivery drivers, construction…
It is obscene that this ain’t a thing already.
Fuck drivers. Expand congestion pricing to the entire island.
I don’t think people will be going that far out of their way, especially the ones with money.
