Football fans who don’t have a ‘favorite’ NFL team — why is this?

I hate the whole NFL right now. If you don’t have every streaming service, it’s nearly impossible to watch it, unless you go somewhere and camp out in front of their TV (ie. Bars/restaurants).

Sorry for the rant, my fav team was the Redskins. I’m still getting used to “Commanders”. Although, at this point it doesn’t matter due to the above situation.

    I guess that technically means I don’t have a favorite. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t care for watching sports. I do care about the results because it’s something to talk about at work.

Free app on iPhone, Sports (made by Apple but not installed by default) shows approximations of the game including live scores and where the ball is). Then I go into work the next day and I can talk about the game to my friends because I follow their teams.

“My team” is just the one closest to where I’m from. I freely admit we suck. I mean we’re not the Panthers, but we lose more than we win. I don’t have any emotional stake in the sport whatsoever. I follow my team as well and I laugh at them along with my friends when they lose. They don’t like me when mine wins and theirs lose, but that’s not very often, and I don’t make a big deal out of it. I just sound like I’m “in the know”.

Ha, I’m the opposite. I don’t care about the results, the stats, but I like watching the game. Of course it’s been a lot of years since it was reasonable to goto a game, so I no longer get do. And the last few years it’s been impossible to watch on TV, but even before that the ads were getting more frequent and intrusive. It’s just not enjoyable anymore

College hockey is the way to go! It’s still reasonable to see live, fans get excited, ads are minimal, and you need at most one streaming service if you watch on tv. It’s harder to find bars though

Did you play sports as a kid? I never could, so the actual mechanics of the game don’t appeal to me. They don’t hearken back to my childhood or hit me in the nostalgia. I did try playing street football with friends, but more than one or two plays and I was done. Asthma. So glad it doesn’t bother me so much these days. It was a real bitch back then. Then again, it kept me from joining the military. A lot of military in my family. Who knows how I woulda turned out. Might be working in the Pentagon or something by now. I can’t even imagine that. Might be better off, financially, but what kind of person would I have been? Anyway… numbers, results, it’s really just a means to an end to make conversation.

I was no athlete by any means, but yes. For organized sports I played little league and one summer of soccer. But mainly my brothers and I were very active. Our back yard was perfect for football, and we sometimes set up a short golf course. We played a lot of football with friends, basketball, etc. while I was especially bad at skating, we played neighborhood hockey. In college I played intramural football and volleyball (my roommate was from Brazil, so we kicked ass in beach volleyball).

I used to have a favorite (that being the New York Giants), and so did my producer. We stopped watching the NFL after they became too political. Politics, and the fact that it’s scripted (it’s even admitted by Goddell) turns me off.

Fun fact: The NFL uses eclipse code to write their scripts, which has to do with numerology and gematria. The phrase “pure drama” is what I’d convert to as “pure mockery”, because if this is said, you’ve just been mocked.
