I understand what pon farr is, but where is the photo from? Which is the original? When was it taken and why? Is the original negative/print held by a particular organisation?

Seems it’s a promo for season 2 of TOS and the show’s new timeslot on Fridays. The lettering is a nod to Laugh-In, and the whole timeslot shuffle is a long story.
Also I see Google has completely given up on quotation marks around phrases. So that’s fun.
I switched to DuckDuckGo a year ago as an experiment and it’s slightly better. Like 10% better. I don’t think they’ve done anything groundbreaking, pretty sure it’s mostly just Bing, but I suspect that SEO spammers just aren’t targeting their algorithm as much. Regardless, I have no regrets.
Quotes seem hit or miss and minus signs don’t work at all for me. It’s the best option I know of, but DDG’s not great imo
I haven’t found quotation marks working on duck duck go either.
…quotation marks… That’s enshittification at work: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enshittification A backwards step from… Alta Vista in 1996!!! https://jkorpela.fi/altavista/
If it is a promotional image from the studio, I would imagine it said something like “Star Trek Now on Fridays” originally. I think “pon farr” wouldn’t have yet been well known enough to mention.
Pretty sure it’s a photoshop job.
There are certainly photoshop jobs of this image, but as far as I can tell, the black and white version with the sign saying ‘pon farr night fridays’ is the original. I’d like to know where the photo came from though.
