There’s a lot of stuff I don’t really care about. I’d like to see just what I’m subscribed to.

You can, in your profile settings. I also have default sort set to new but it doesn’t seem these settings are working rn in jerboa. When I open lemmy in a browser though the settings are applied correctly.

My experience matches forkball’s fwiw. If it works, it doesn’t work reliably for all Jerboa users.

One thing that tricked me into thinking it worked better than it does for a while is that Android apps kind of sort of stay running in the background when you close them… or they at least retain their in-memory state. So if you set it manually in the top-bar, that can last a long time. As an experiment, Try force-killing Jerboa and see if it comes back with the default sorting of local/active or your chosen settings. For me, this experiment is what showed me that Jerboa is not respecting the app settings.

Yeah, it works as expected in the browser. And if I just hit the back or home button in Jerboa it persists. But, if I swipe away the app in the app switcher list thing and reopen it from scratch, it’s reset. So it’s not actually using the setting.

Edit: I updated to 0.0.34-alpha manually and it seems to work as expected now. Never mind.

Ah, I was on 0.0.33-alpha. Just updated, but it still started on the wrong filter/sort even though the app settings display the right ones. I dunno what’s up.

I had to uninstall before installing, maybe that had something to do with it? Also try swiping it out of the app list and/or force stopping it.
