Comments dont make money, moderation costs money. So pull it and make the site more like the other streaming services out there, make some PR word salad to justify it. Not surprising really. QA prevents them from losing money. Same with IT.
Comments sections prevent them from losing users who like that. Users are money.
Cost of moderation likely higher then lost profits from users who were only being kept on by comment section.
That’s the bet they’re making.
