Title is hopefully self-explanatory. During the early growth, there were a number of examples of users setting up magazines based on popular Reddit subs but then losing their initial enthusiasm for kbin.

I’m an active user of one such sub, which has taken off in the last few weeks after a slow start, but where the only mod hasn’t been seen in over a month. How do we either replace them or get additional mods added, when there’s no way to get in contact with them in the first place?

Hey, this mechanism is already finished. The problem is that I planned the next update after the release of the first /kbin tagged version. There’s still about a week left for that because there are really a lot of changes that I’m still testing. I’ll try to speed up this process and quickly create some external procedure.

This question seems to be asked at least once a week. I think the answer is “no”.

Part of the problem is that Kbin itself is only a few months old, and isn’t full-featured yet. I expect mechanisms for handling inactive accounts, moderators, and magazines will eventually be implemented.

In the meantime, if there is a need for moderation in a particular magazine and the moderator is inactive, consider reaching out to Ernest or starting a new magazine that you can more actively moderate.

@ernest - sorry I know you’re super busy but any possibility you can help us with this?

The magazine is m/Neoliberal - me and @CoffeeAddict have been the most active contributors but the only mod, @Crawfish, has vanished - we’ve tried contacting them in recent weeks but to no avail. Do you think you could add the two of us as co-mods until we can work out where @Crawfish is?

The magazine feels like it’s just starting to take off, with a growing number of subscribers and now with multiple people posting new links each day - I’d hate it for its growth to be stunted by the lack of an active moderator who can look after the magazine.

Yeah I have tried multiple different handles this time. I see he started a few magazines/communities for Neoliberal across some different instances. So far I have heard nothing lol.

Would there be anyone else in addition to @ernest?

The last I heard, he finally got some help developing Kbin. Would they we able to assist?

I know Ernest is absolutely swamped with work. The number of times he must be tagged for help must be staggering…

Was literally just coming here to post about this. Ghost magazines with inactive owners and mods seems to be a real issue after the initial hype died down, and a Reddit request-esque service could really help.
