I keep seen everyone recommend FF and Safari, but are there any other options that you would recommend?
minus-squareAtemu@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up12·1 year agoThat’s the thing, that’s it. Firefox (Gecko), Chromium (Blink) and Safari (Webkit) are the only serious browser engines left. Every other remotely relevant browser is just a rehash of these and it’s usually from really shady for-profit companies such as Opera or Brave.

minus-squarezhvsrl@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoIt used to be. This change is also news to me. Really sad tbh.
minus-squareono@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·edit-21 year agoIt’s Chromium. https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qtwebengine-overview.html#qt-webengine-core-module https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/qtwebengine-overview.html#qt-webengine-core-module Chromium was once based on WebKit (it has since diverged) so perhaps that’s what gave you that impression?
minus-squareAtemu@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoThere was qtwebkit, that’s where I got the expression from.
minus-squarenottheengineer@feddit.delinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoThanks, didn’t know that. The name Qtwebengine is a bit misleading.
