    We need news outlets to be tax funded and not advertiser funded so they can report factual news instead of trying to keep eyeballs on the screen.

    It’s truly bonkers the way we get news these days. Journalism is dying, and it sadly needs more than unions to survive.

      Yeah, the ad dollars all went to Facebook and Instagram, since they’re better-able to deliver the kind of targeting that advertisers want, so most local news stopped being financially viable.

        But they lean on news so hard for content, it’s very frustrating. They should be required to tip out a percent of their ad revenue to news organizations.

      The difference between state propaganda and capitalist propaganda is almost as nonexistent as the difference between the state and capitalism.
