I was the passenger for this shot.
I-70 West out of Denver?
Exactly! Do you also get to experience the pains and pleasures of i70?
I’ve only been on that road once. Terrifying.
Dont try the million dollar highway then
Independence pass is a good one to pucker on some of those areas.
That road was wonderful.
Some days are great, some days are a nightmare.
The Chief Hosa sign was the giveaway more than the view
I used to live on the Western slope. That view there was how I knew I was about to enjoy the rest of my drive.
Terrific photo and very evocative.
Great shot! I lived in Frisco for a short time and I’ll never forget this view.
Frisco is prime viewing spot to watch the tunnel traffic back up 10 miles. My record is almost 6 hours to go 115 miles to DIA.
Edit: see if I can insert this clip.
https://i.imgur.com/yLownEg.mp4. (Yes, that tow truck is pushing the big rig out of the way by its bumpers to clear the road. A wreck further up the road caused traffic to come to a complete stop and the big rigs even with chains couldnt get started moving again on the incline. CDOT was pushing trucks with their bull bars to get ambulances through)
Ugh, for sure! Yeah I don’t miss that part of it.
Beautiful mountainscape!
Oh, wow. Gorgeous shot! That’s an image you don’t forget, apparently, either. I haven’t lived there for years, but damn if I didn’t know instantly where(ish) that was taken, and felt super satisfied to see my memory wasn’t playing tricks on me, when I checked the comments. One of these days, I’ll get to see that, again. Thanks for sharing. 😊
For me, coming over the crest of the hill heading west is always a great feeling. Means im headed home.
Leaving CO back to KS was pretty sad for me. I had never seen mountains before, so it sucked seeing them in the rear view mirror.
Well, I am officially inviting you back so head on this way!
Looks beautiful!
“And on our right you may see bison in the field. No, we’re not pulling over here, we’re going to Mt Blue Sky. Keep drinking water.”
Ive gotten lucky and seen the elk out there with them before on my early morning trips.
Gorgeous shot
