Here’s an idea: open the borders AND give people decent work condition.

Opening borders is a good way to ensure decent working conditions are never achieved since there’s a constant influx of people coming in willing to work for less. And you royally screw over the workers who are already living there.

Might suck for the origin country too if all the people are drained from there to work abroad. But that’s a larger topic.

Ask yourself why they willingly leave their home, endure a dangerous illegal migration, and live in a foreign country doing hard labor.

Because it’s better than the conditions in their home country. If you lock them out you aren’t helping them, you’re forcing them to live in even worse conditions that they want to escape. If there was economic opportunity and safety closer to their home they wouldn’t be coming all the way to the US.

If you want to actually improve work conditions, we need to help poorer/less developed countries stablize themselves and build a local economy. If people are happy and safe in their home countries then they won’t feel the need to go through illegal migration.

The problem is working with foreign governments is not an easy job and takes a long time. Cutting off immigration is a massive short term change that will only make things worse.

The US? But I’m all for improving the work conditions at the source country, I’m just improving much if the company at my local area decides to replace us with immigrant workers to save on money and worker demands. Now the local workers are out of job. Not something most want to do out of solidarity.

Now the local workers are out of job.

and now we are going in circles.

Economists say immigration, legal or illegal, doesn’t hurt American workers.

immigrants do not really make unemployment go up or wages go down. More often than not, there is no detectable effect.

Most economists agree that in spite of being a very big part of the labor force, immigrants have not come at the cost either of American jobs, nor of American wages

the impact of immigration on the wages of native-born workers is very small. “If anything,”

Economy and labor experts told PolitiFact immigrants who recently crossed the U.S. border likely aren’t taking Michigan’s union jobs. Instead, newly arrived migrants are likelier to work in jobs Americans don’t want to do, such as day laborer positions. These aren’t union jobs.

The panel of economists found “little evidence that immigration significantly affects” overall employment levels among Americans, they wrote for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine

More people also means more consumers and more people paying for stuff. Your racist idea of the third world being baby factories is deeply disturbing.

Just say you want to keep your first world privilege of being rich thanks to colonization.

What baby factories are you talking about?

More people also means more consumers and more people paying for stuff.

I’m sure the owning class are happy about that but does nothing for workers, other than forcing them to fight for those jobs with people willing to take lower pay and suffer shittier conditions. But line must go up.

            National-socialisme is a plague.

Maybe fight your owning class instead of rooting for segregation because you’re afraid of competition. Simp. You’re the house slave in a plantation whispering to the boss that outside slaves shouldn’t get in the house so you get your meager crumbles.

Did that occur to you that immigrants will have the same material condition as you and thus would allies with you against the bosses? If you weren’t threating them as second-class citizen they might root WITH the white working class instead of competing against them.

But hey that would require not wanting to deport their mums.

You’re a pick-me simp. I hate it when nazidiots hides their racism in the veil of marxism.

I do fight for the workers in my country, I’m myself in an union, take part in their work and am a rep in the current company I work in.

I just feel like supporting employers bringing in people so they don’t have to pay as much or provide the current working conditions and whatnot is fucked up. If those workers were also unionized and got the same level as everyone else and so on, things wouldn’t be as bad, but it’s not what is happening. But even then I’m not sure why I would want to support companies pushing to bring in people to do the job I’m doing.

And i dont care if you’re from the nordics or canada or whatever, you’re obviously first world.

Companies are hiring people from abroad, often through an intermediary company that arranges for visas, flights and such. And take part of the pay from the workers and other fun stuff, if they pay the workers at all. So “bringing in” seems entirely fitting since some unscrupulous companies treat them almost as a product or cattle. Sometimes the cattle get better housing than these workers. It’s pretty messed up.

And i dont care if you’re from the nordics or canada or whatever, you’re obviously first world.

                  Ok?

You threat the wealth gap between poor and rich countries as if it was unsolvable and fatality, which is inherently racist. People who come aren’t weights and the only reason why they’re forced to undersell themselves is because of social stigma and segregation.

I don’t think it’s unsolvable, plenty of countries have gone from poor to rich and some have gone the opposite way.

How is it racist, do you think only certain races are rich right now or what? Wealth isn’t tied to skin colour
