    Man that’s a cynical way of thinking. Also half the stuff he said is wrong.

    When a cyclist doesn’t buy insurance it doesn’t mean that he will not spend that money it only means he will not spend that money on insurance and instead will buy another product or service thus contributing the same amount to a countries gdp.

      It’s also an unethical way of thinking. That you only benefit from people’s mistakes and woes. What an unsatisfying way to live.

      Insurance is necessarly on average more expensive than paying for whatever is insured. The insurance company pays accountants, lawyers, etc. Whether insurance is necessary to society is debatable, but these jobs would not exist without it, which means insurance makes a higher GDP.
