Why did the cop feel justified in doing that? Something is rotten in the culture, and I bet any consequences get downgraded to paid vacation.

We all know that’s the status quo. Literally everyone agrees that government agents who commit crimes should face a multiplier in consequences, when the reality is the exact opposite.
