Pls don’t discourage content like this. Lemmy has enough politics and drama. I need stuff like this in my feed or I’m out.

Luckily linux does 95% of the work for you nowadays! Follow a 15 min tutorial on youtube, and pick Zorin or Mint. No configuring drivers, no setting up grub. Modern distros truly are a Penguin blessing. Want software? Open de software center and click install!
It’s not moving to a different city or country lol. Upload what you need to a cloud and put linux on a usb and install. If this takes you longer than a week… Then idk.
Only those apps that aren’t linux compatible is a pain the ass
AmanitaCaesarea@slrpnk.netto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you justify buying something you want but don’t need?2·29 天前The reasonable voice in me tells to get my license and a second hand bike for max 3k ish. The unreasonable voice wants a new Triumph Scrambler 400x or a Suzuki Gsx 8s. Scrambler new is 7.5, almost no used models in my country. Gsx 8s can be found used around 8k.
One is a way safer fun 400 cc bike. The other quite bit quicker. Both financial disasters tho lol. Will probably end up on a older bike with less tech.
AmanitaCaesarea@slrpnk.netto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Should i switch to linux? please tell me why or why not.English1·30 天前No not a lot. Was just distro hopping and tried bazzite. When I tried to install something that wans’t in the software centrum it indeed said to try sudo rpm-ostree install. But monkey brain already found it too much. So yeah… My bazzite views probaly aren’t the best lol. Have to give it a better try some day.
AmanitaCaesarea@slrpnk.netto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Should i switch to linux? please tell me why or why not.English2·30 天前True true, still modern linux doesn’t break as easily as u frame it. And is user friendly enough for even non tech ppl. A user would have to go out of their way todo something weird in cli. As long as they are just installing games then not a whole lot can go wrong.
On bazzite if u want to install something that isn’t virtualized like flats, than u would have to dive more into cli. That instead of simply typing sudo apt install.
AmanitaCaesarea@slrpnk.netto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Should i switch to linux? please tell me why or why not.English3·30 天前I like bazzite but the immutable aspect makes downloading some thing even more complicated for a newb. Truly can never go wrong with zorinos or mint
AmanitaCaesarea@slrpnk.netto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you justify buying something you want but don’t need?9·1 个月前Let it simmer. If I still want to buy it after weeks/months than I buy it.
AmanitaCaesarea@slrpnk.netto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you justify buying something you want but don’t need?4·1 个月前And here is me starting for a motor license in a few weeks.
My use case isn’t very high way oriented so hopefully i’ll stay whole…
Good tips all around tho :)
Milk is for babies and calves. I don’t see other adult animals sucking titty milk
If you like the color green pick linux mint. If you like blue pick zorinOS.
If you really want to use arch as noob pick Garuda.
80% of recommendations will be an Ubuntu/debian child so pick whatever looks good and works. See the first two.
If you really don’t like Ubuntu/deb check out Fedora. If you want a big screen steam mode pick bazzite.
ZorinOS. Looks modern, works 96% of the time.
