The idea that if there were no landlords you’d be able to afford a house is absurd.

This fairy tale world where this dude thinks he can get “Russia to exit its military alliance with China”, this seems temping. But if this chucklefuck thinks that’s going to happen, then I’ve got 5 bridges to sell him.
I haven’t been around Lemmy for a few weeks and today is my first time seeing anyone from the Hexbear instance. I like you people.
Saw a turd like this in the toilet at school in 2nd grade and I’ll never forget it
This is my take too. Reality has a liberal bias, and people doing skilled/educated work tend to have a firmer grasp on reality
It’s going to take these old assholes dropping dead in the Capitol before we start doing anything but bitching about the ages of our congresspeople. And yes, anyone selfish enough run for re-election when they’re over the age of 70 is an asshole in my book
Thanks
Agree with everything you said, but there’s nothing Reddit could do to win me back. They’re a corporation and stopped pretending to give a shit about their users. Reversing their decision to go public would catch my eye, but there’s an ice cubes chance in hell of that happening. And even if they did, they’re 1 threat from VC away from pulling similar scummy shit again a year down the line.
The way I see it, fediverse is the only way forward.
I understand this is a very simple meme, but as someone who grew up learning French I really enjoy that memes like this one - where the punchline is multilingual, are becoming popular
Airbnb is terrible for society but imo this is the right ruling. If you want to stop housing from being hoarded and abused for profit, you need to do it through the legislative process.
This article doesn’t give a lot of context for why their home addresses were requested, but I would guess it’s because the prevailing sentiment is folks are tired of foreign nationals buying up expensive properties and deepening the housing crisis.
The way to stop this is by amending the law. Sounds like someone is trying to skip a few steps.
Did we expect them to do anything else?
+1
“Be nice” is a very effective rule if you can only choose one. No need for anyone to start getting all philosophical or inflammatory. We request that you be nice or get the fuck out
Okay I learned a few things, though they may be specific to Memmy.

Weird. Not sure when your example didn’t link, because it did in my comment ¯\(ツ)/¯
Edit: I’m back on browser. Everything that hyperlinked works properly. It’s a Memmy issue
Do you mind giving a short explainer of proper link formatting? I was struggling with this just a little bit ago
Then limit rewards to posts. And I specifically did not mention a subscription service for that reason.
No hate, but I cannot fathom feeling the way you do about Micro USB and not spending $200 on some of the very solid Android phones that have come out in the 9 years since USB C has been the standard.
