You think Marxism is an overly simple take on things, but think your metaphor about journey’s means anything at all?
Okay I’m communist I’m not in one of your parties. I have no idea what you’re talking about journey’s and different places, that doesn’t mean anything. Both of the parties you’re refering to serve the ruling class and help facilitate the oppression of the global working class.
There’s more to it, but at the end of the day there are two classes, the global ruling class who oppress, and the global working class who are oppressed. These aren’t different parts of a “journey”, its a global system of production thst is predicated on the exploitation of one class by the other.
That’s a well intentioned sentiment. So don’t tske any of this as an attack, just a clarification.
We aren’t just all on this journey together, some of us are oppressed by others. Our problems aren’t abstract, they are a consequence of the ruling class engaging in warfare on the rest of us, and that’s what the person above was getting at.
We know we’re people, but we also know that we aren’t people to the ruling class.
Why stand up for Obama? He’s a narcissist who did a ton of awful shit. The ACA may have threw some crumbs, but the loaf of bread went straight to the insurance companies.
Create a better world through revolutionary solcialism
I get what you’re saying. There are ways to think that can help people feel happier or better on a personal, individual level. Thats more or less what some forms of therapy can do for people, and its a very good thing, again on an individual level.
But the context in that piece, and where i would put the emphasis, is that its an example of capitalist alienation and atomization. There’s no individual answer to that. It’s something that is pushed onto all of us through our relationship to capital, and to truely end that malaise, we need to work toward ending capitalism itself.
I don’t think anyone is pushing modern capitalist Russia, although kleprocratic, imperialist oligarchy describes the US and western liberal democracy at large as much as it does the Russian Federation.
China though has a better democracy than the US. Calling it a dictatorship is pure western brainworms.
Edit: Why do you think the US is not a kleptocratic, imperialist oligarchy? And why do you think liberal democracy is more democratic than full process democracy in China?

i deserve passive income
We know that housing can be decommodified and that everyone can have a home because socialist nations have already done that.
The concept has been thought through. Theres a nearly 200 year long intellectual tradition of thinking this through. You’re just really into the idea of exploiting other people because you and people like you feel entitled to passive income.
You’re getting that feeling because people in this thread do think that housing should be decommodified. We don’t think anyone should be able to profit off of human needs. Housing should be a right. Our needs shouldn’t be exploited so some “average dude” can use us to fund the retirement we aren’t going to get.
The reason you think this is ridiculous is because you’re a
You think if you invest smart then you’ll get to wear the boot, but there’s a crisis in profitablity. They’re going to be all out of boots, no matter what you do.
And when you say “there’s more than enough housing for everyone” and then say there’s homeless people because they’re addicts and mentally ill, that’s not just facts, its a pretty fucked up dehumanizing perspective
Its interesting that you say drugs and mental illness are the problems. Isn’t the fact that housing is commodified and costs money the HUGE problem? They can’t afford it, is the reason they’re homeless. The way you’re making it look is that the problem is just them, which is an extremely dehumanizing starement, especially when you are ignoring the obvious answer that’s its because some people are allowed to profit off of others need for shelter.
Are you a libertarian? The way you bring up printing money, cronyism, ill-conceived laws etc. sounds like you might be
There’s more than enough housing that everyone can afford to own? Why are there homeless people then?
totally got me for a minute comrade
