  • Square because trackpads have always been that way my dude and can be set to a ratio similar to common screen sizes.

Not awkward at all seeing how we hold smartphones these days and the onscreen keyboards are typically in the same location our thumbs need to reach when using both smartphones and the deck trackpads.

Sure you can argue size is small but most likely the deck internals won’t allow for larger size.

I liked/like the steam controller. I’ve got four. But the steam deck trackpads have been far and above more responsive for me.

  • Getting other launchers to run can be tough so that’s probably why you’d think it won’t work. But to me it’s not worth the effort.

I’d go with emulating. Any PS2 FIFA game will work great. I’ve gotten WiiU roms to run well. People have gotten Switch games to work (I tried BotE but I need to organize the game files on a separate computer first and see if I can get it to work.) PS3 was a hassle to setup and won’t even work after hours of setup. Ymmv.

There are some indie games on steam you can try as well but they are more arcady.

  • Just one cookbook is my go to. I take tidbits from recipes to mix I not o my recipes for Miso Ramen / Stock and trying new Asian dishes I just learn about.

Bon Apetit for variations on recipes. I use the cooked butter Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe lost from here. I used to grab Brad Leone recipe sheet before me busted out (get his cookbook if you can.)

Budget Bytes for when you want to make meals for an entire week or empty your pantry.

  • It’s fine for now. But I very much would prefer a general gaming community for major topics that anybody familiar or not with games can discuss, but also will need more specific communities for discussing:

PCGaming (including what components are a steal or required theses days, games that are only on Pc or to be ported, etc)

SteamDeck (just coming out last year it has daily information that needs to be passed around to users) l

TableTopgames (convention talk, deals, reissues of old games making comebacks, what games for party sizes, best snacks, etc).

And many more communities that aren’t just for me.

All of these communities end up getting lost in a larger group like Gaming. Cross posting is not a symptom of having too many communities. It is a symptom of moderating gone wrong and (for reddits case) karma farming.
