Honestly feminists need to learn how to turn off the comment section, every time they post A WOMAN ACTUALLY DID X FIRST, the comment section is there to ruin the delusion

6·1 day agoThat’s true but for example with battery storage, prices were on their way down then Russia invaded Ukraine, gas/coal prices shot through the roof as Germany slurped up all coal and gas they could get and that triggered a massive spend on renewables which increased the prices of solar batteries from august 2022 peaking in nov 2023:

Looks like AI is the Germany of PC hardware:

4·2 days agoyeah I have a domain and static ip, once you figure out in the domain name providers DNS manager to point the domain at your static IP it’s really set and forget
but at the same time make sure to keep your stuff up to date because you’re now exposing it to all the chinese and russian bots trying to hack you
I think he meant to say Gen Z monopoly?
Over half of us have a home:
The story is similar for millennials: 54.9% of millennials owned their home last year, essentially
https://www.redfin.com/news/homeownership-rate-by-generation-2024/
Same in Australia
Over half (55 per cent) of Millennials, 25–39 year olds, are homeowners compared with 62 per cent of Generation X and two thirds (66 per cent) of Baby Boomers when they were the same age.
edit: just realised this tweet is from 2018

“Coal should not be considered an illicit commodity,” Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia told a press conference. “It’s OK to use if we need.” Some new coal power plants are still expected to enter commercial operation as late as 2033.

How many more in the meat grinder do they have?
I’m Asian. Don’t take my just-rising living standards away from me.
edit: how did I forget: every time I hear someone say they can’t do anything why bother, I want to say you sound exactly like the boomer in the cartoon, it’s funny how so many people blame boomers for doing nothing but then simultaneously argue that it’s not worth doing anything
You have an opportunity unlike the rest of us to have rising living standards in addition to not contributing to the problem
Solar + Battery + EV’s will save you billions of petro-dollars not going to the likes of Russia/Saudi Arabia/Iran etc
I can already see that this is not reality:
we can reduce our footprint, but it’s small compared to corporate bullshit
Recently announced in Vietnam:
Hanoi plans to ban fossil-fuel motorcycles from its city center in July 2026, part of a national drive to cut emissions and air pollution. Its commercial capital, Ho Chi Minh City, is weighing a similar step. By 2030, Vietnam aims for a third of cars and more than a fifth of motorbikes to run on electricity.
Vietnam’s motorbike market, at about 3.5 million units a year
https://apnews.com/article/vietnam-evs-motorbikes-yamaha-vinfast-4ab76826787a806392655b843c374f3a
That’s 3.5 million small footprints that will soon be making a positive impact :)
This is not a zero sum game, every single little bit helps
assuming you’re American your tiny footprint is one of the biggest in the world
as to what you can do about it, tons!
but you’ll just have to do some research (on ecosia.org i assume 😀) to find out more about what you can do
