GluWu@lemm.eeto News@lemmy.world•Trump is trying to pay his way into a US baby boom. Experts say it won’t workEnglish8·8 days agoThey don’t want the middle class breeding, those are the people they want to get rid of. They want rulers and servants. With this, poor people will have more kids for the short term gain because they have to. Parents get money and can feed thmselves for a while. Then the oligarchy gets a influx of child labour they can pay less for and will be indoctrinated from this early age. Those parents will realize having more kids means they can get more income off them and with be incentived to have 12 kids in the factory.

English2017·9 days agoThe thing they all share is that they are deeply unloved. Trump, musk, bezos, zuck, none of them have healthy loving families. They have noons they can genuinely connect with. And they all think by having more money and being more popular will fulfill that human need. But it never does, so they just keep going not realizing the path they chose doesn’t end anywhere near what they desire. Money will never buy love and peace.

My parents just stopped watching the news about anything and just sit thinking everything will be okay. Its starting to get difficult to have a relationship with them because they are so out of touch with reality. They even go to protests but for them its just a thing to go do because they’re not doing anything else. They have zero understanding of any of the reasons they’re happening other than trump bad.
GluWu@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•The first driverless semis have started running regular longhaul routes | CNN BusinessEnglish8·12 days agoMost rigs go at least 1,000,000 miles and that isn’t isn’t even end off life. You’ll be paying not much less than new for a rig that only has 100k, that’s practically brand new. These systems should have 100 million proven miles. These things weight 80,000lbs which can be very hazardous materials.
You should see the pile ups semis cause in low visibility. Even with really good lidar, I hesitant to say autonomous trucks can be safe running off independent systems on full mixed use roads.
We could add those systems to all roads to feed back to semis to know conditions and hazards miles before they reach them. We could build new smart roads for all autonomous vechilce to travel on separately.
Or we could just end the 100+ year old railroad cartel. Could move people and cargo with ease. But that isn’t profitable.
GluWu@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•The first driverless semis have started running regular longhaul routes | CNN BusinessEnglish151·12 days agoLol, no they dont. This is such reddit shit. Say something people will believe for the updoots because they have zero clue.
Your average driver is lucky to have a bat to check tire pressure. All the old guys that know how to work on their rigs are now too old to do it, or have enough money to just call the roadside desiel mechanic. 90% of drivers don’t own their rig, don’t give a shit, and are taught to just call the company to send a mechanic.
GluWu@lemm.eeto News@lemmy.world•McDonald's suffers worst U.S. sales decline since 2020, warns of 'anti-American sentiment' abroadEnglish29·12 days agoFor a while I practically lived off $5 at mcdicks. I would get 2 double cheese burgers, 2 mcchickens, and a large drink. $1 each. That’s was 10 years ago.
Then they started giving away free food just for using the app.
Then they had really good deals on the app.
Then they got rid of the dollar menu.
Then the only way to get cheap food was through the app.
Now even the prices and “deals” from the app are a scam for such shit food.
Now I make my own smash burgers in cast iron that are so much better you can’t even compare them to McShit and still cost half the price.

All of that and so much more. There’s a whole industry of old guys with those magnifying scopes they hold with their eye muscles that evaluate foreskin quality.
Recall and AI in general is something normies understand and hate, and that’s the fuck up windows is making. Even apple did briefs trials and immediately realized what a mistake they made. And if you haven’t been involved in it, you have not fucking idea how far proton has progressed Linux gaming in the last few years and that wouldn’t have ever happened without valve.
Sorry to disappoint, and this will sound weird but I’m not comfortable posting something unique that I genuinely value. I’d rather post a dick pic. I wasn’t trying to point out that the macro missed something or got something wrong(but the picture of the two peen is a dual face soft blow). I guess I can’t define machinists hammers because they’re whatever material and shape you want it to be. I didn’t actually didn’t make mine, I just found it in the bottom of a box of 100+ hammers of every variation you can imagine.
If '25 isn’t due to people knowing win10 is going to die, '26 will be when they realize it’s dead. Started during <10.whatever Ubuntu but have been running windows because I own a nvidia GPU that I want to use to play games. I’m confident in bazzite to go full time this year but I honesty want steamos on my main PC. I’ve used it for however many years since first batch steamdecks arrived and I love it. I promise to be a fanboy if steamos can do nvidia egpus and vr headsets with less that 5 minutes of tinkering.
Rock. I love bolting climbing routes and cleaning up new crags.
Edit: actually my favorite hammer ever, like seriously I fucking love this hammer, is what I call a machinist hammer. Because its what I used as a machinist, and machinists can make in a hour with a little bar stock, and just works the best for machinist work. Its a double peen( the double peen in the picture isn’t accurate) made from all steel. The weight and balance is so perfect for me, it feels so natural to use, unlike any hammer I’ve ever used. I still love my rock hammer tho

Why do polticalitcians cling to the idea that these voters can't be reached?English21·21 days agoIf you worked a job that withheld taxes but you still didn’t make the minimum then you would absolutely want to still file because you would get 100% of that back and have the original amount your employer would have paid you. They can only refund you if you already gave them money.
If you’re self employed/gig work/contactor and don’t make more than the minimum you don’t need to file because you don’t have to pay tax. Assuming you didn’t have any other liability such as capital gains or sales taxes.
GluWu@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do some communities get like 50 members minutes after its creation?English5·21 days agoI’ve seen a few reasons.
New communities are created, a very specific and relevant post is made(which is likely the reason for making the new com), and it rides naturally through new/hot/all.
New communities are made as a direct discussion in a com or instance so people already know where to go as soon as its made.
And then some are made as alternatives to others due to conflicts so there’s a side that stays and a side that leaves to the new com immediately.
Pedalos are a highly efficient vehicle which is used as the primary mode of transport in Germany. These lead to the building of the famous autobahn specifically to accommodate the abundance of these efficient and streamlined vehicles which cars are unable to compete with due to limitations in modern technology. Despite over 97% of all transport conducted by Germans is via pedalos, they have banned export and preform covert international sabotage on anyone attempting to replicate the technology.
