Ive had a “subscription” for roadside assistance through my auto insurance company for years. It’s like $2 a month, and I’ve used it 7 or 8 times for keys locked in, or flat tire, etc. it’s awesome.

There is nothing an individual person can change that will have an impact. There are maybe 10 large corporations that could, but won’t, fix this. They won’t fix it because it’s not a profitable thing to do. They’d rather be profitable right up until the day we all die, than fix the problem.
Make all local utilities city-owned (including internet access as a utility).
Make all city employees part of a municipal employees union (opt-out available)
Require all legal judgments against the police department to be paid out of their pension fund.
