Good stuff! Thanks for all that you guys do for Lemmy and the open internet
Doing good! Really happy with where I’m at in life currently.
I don’t go out of my way to get news, so social media/Lemmy. Except for local news, which I do follow more closely. But that’s it.
I have never used amazon, much less paid for a subscription service for the pleasure of using it. I was hoping that the author atleast stopped using amazon alltogether. Ah well. Little victories I guess.
Not at all. We actually block the offending instance.
I know they had a word block list but I’m unsure if it’s still around.
I just realized FF didn’t have a built in translator a week ago. Excited to see it come!
I got by for a long time using a YouTube playlist and Vanced. Might want to look into YouTube Revanced, it’s a patch for the YT app that deletes ads and adds some extra features.
Sounds like it sorts out the right kind of people? I’m not aware of anyone actually asking you to write an essay, no one would do that. 2 short answer questions does not an essay make.
It’ll drop a little, but to a significantly higher level than it was before.
It’s so refreshing having a statement written by two people, instead of a board of lawyers.
I actually made a post about this issue earlier. Included are some aids to find new communities: https://midwest.social/post/588624
While we’re at it, ban SUVs and Light Trucks, by making a separate licence for them. If you need one for work? Or for personal use? Get a license that proves you know how to use one.
SUVs and Light trucks have done so much damage to our society: both by being dangerous as fuck, and in the insane amounts of pollution that emit. It’s about time the United States, and any other country that hasn’t yet, apply bandage to the wound. Slow the bleeding. Then the healing can begin.
That’s right. !Gaming@lemmy.ml is different from !Gaming@beehaw.org
Note that you can use your same account to subscribe to both of them, as one may be more active than the other. Feel free to pick one or both it doesn’t really matter. Different websites/servers have slightly different rules and different culture, so the posts and comments will be slightly different community to community.
Feature, not a bug.
Big Advertising can be stopped simply by denying their existence in the first place. It’s time to get advertisers out of our digital lives.
Not quite. An upvote on Lemmy is a favorite on mastodon. However, all posts on Lemmy look like they are a “boost” by the community when viewing from mastodon.
