I wonder if Japanese companies not liking modding is somehow a cultural thing. I remember littlekuriboh, the guy who does the Yu-Gi-Oh abridged, mentioning that the actual Japanese creators of the show wanted nothing to do with him and his content when he met them at a con. While non-japanese people see editing official content as form of investment and passion (even if it’s a joke), the japanese mindset is that you get what you get and messing with it is disrespectful.
An upright bass, because they are such a vibe.
Classics are a bit hard on my ADHD but I love to read a good Stephen King, Dean Koontz, or Gillain Flynn thriller/horror in October. I’ve even found some decently spooky YA for when I need a really easy read. This year, I’m on the hunt for some kind of sci-fi horror. I find that googling subgenres is a great way to find recommendations because people tend to be more passionate about a smaller niche
The Canadian version of a Panda who eats shoots and leaves
The first time I learned to play Nine Men’s Morris was at a handmade board game stall at a renaissance festival. I remember the owner/worker telling me the game could be traced back to ancient Rome, and being surprised at how fun it was.
I was playing a Link to the Past for the first time but I lost a lot of progress by forgetting to save including a whole dungeon and the ocarina mini-quest :( I want to keep going but it’ll be hard to get me motivated to redo a bunch of stuff. I enjoy the game but it can be tedious just due to its age
Fun fact! This is a terrible way to hold a snapping turtle. Their necks are quite long and can reach behind their front legs. If you ever do have to hold a turtle, hold them as far back as possible and pray you can keep it balanced.
Personally, I feel like low empathy is a sign of low intelligence ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Emotions control so much of human behaviour so if you can’t understand yours or others you won’t be able to solve any problems with a human element.
Ah my bad! I got confused with physical releases 😅
I have never played a Pikmin game (not including nintendoland) and so I’m thinking of starting with this one?? It looks cute and the remasters aren’t coming out until the fall. So far, the reviews are supporting my plan
Shin Godzilla is one of my favourite movies of all time. If they can get even close to it I’ll be so thrilled.
Normally I check lemmy.ml when lemmy.world is down. It was fine in the attack that also took down lemmy.blahaj.zone, so I guess I thought it was more secure because it is The Tech Instance. I’m sad it let me down this time lol
I haven’t taken Adderall, but I do really like my Vyvanse. My doctor described it as Adderall that’s slow releasing over the day.
The feathers are quite silky, but it was surprisingly hard underneath, at least on the wing.
People bring up Journey a lot but another game by that same company called Flower. It’s a short, simple game that I will never forget, a beautiful masterpiece.
One time, I was walking along the sidewalk next to some geese. They were so close that the intrusive thoughts won, and I tried to poke it. It hit me with its wing and left me with a nice bruise :(
This cat definitely gives Bazooka energy
On my Instagram account, I follow a whole bunch of zoos, rehabilitation centers, parks, etc. that would never join a niche platform but make absolutely amazing content. I would love for there to be a commercial product for that kind of content to reach directly the fediverse. I also enjoy minor “celebrities” (drag queens, podcasters, voice actors) who again, don’t really care for quirky alternative social media products. I wish I could see their content directly from my more private Lemmy account.
Since no one else has mentioned it: Shin Godzilla. While I’m happy to watch some goofy movie about giant monsters punching each other as well, this movie brings Godzilla to his roots as an allegory for disasters. The movie was apparently influenced by the 2011 earthquake/tsunami and Fukushima nuclear accident as well as the classic Hiroshima/Nagasaki reference that inspired the original Godzilla. To top it all off, it was directed by the creator of Evangelion.
