It’s because you’ve not stared at the blue glow long enough.
It could be true, I guess. It could be Western propaganda too. It doesn’t take much to reason a country as underdeveloped and isolated as NK lacks an effective military.
However, maybe they don’t need to be particularly good to further Russia’s interests. NK army may be good enough as cannon fodder or purely for defence purposes, as border guards or patrols.
Just use Google Docs then. Yes, it’s Google. Yes, it will somewhat tie you into their ecosystem but Google Docs are free, get regular updates and are pretty good overall. I’ve been using Google Docs for many years now. I occasionally use Office365 for work and Google Docs is just as good, if not better.
The article addresses this point.
This change is justified by the fact that a user can simply log out and view another user’s posts anyway. Except that’s not entirely true. Since Elon Musk took over the site, being logged out of X makes it very hard to view a user’s profile, individual posts are viewable but viewing an account triggers a log in pop up.
So technically it is possible for a logged out user to view your tweets but it’s a lot more inconvenient. Anything you can do to make it not worth their while helps.
With this change they won’t even have to put any effort anymore to stalk your content on X.
I know of a better way still to protect yourself from stalkers and trolls on X.
Quit X.
And my bow!
For me the biggest problem is not volume in general but volume of niche content. The best thing about Reddit was all the active, engaging communities that would sprawl around any niche subject you could imagine.
Clickbait bullshit. The Department of Defense statement clarifies the US “troops” are just the crew required to operate the air defense battery equipment the US has been supplying to Israel for a while now.
This is not the first time the United States has deployed a THAAD battery to the region. The President directed the military to deploy a THAAD battery to the Middle East last year following the October 7th attacks to defend American troops and interests in the region.
Again, nothing new or different about this. The US is not putting boots on the ground to shoot people up. At least not yet.
Recommending the obvious GOAT titles is getting kinda old now so I’ll go with my personal favourite genre right now: roguelikes.
In that genre, my favourite of all time are the Darkest Dungeon franchise, Slay the Spire, Loop Hero, Vampire Survivors and Dead Cells.
X11. Luckily those days are over thanks to Wayland but, Jesus, are X.org config files a fucking, fiddly PITA to configure!
Top 3 cutest cats of the year
I don’t see how the Middle East war could escalate into a worldwide conflict. Ukraine, maybe. The Middle East conflict spiralling out of that territory? Nah.
Russia are not that bothered about Iran, and the US want to keep Israel around for the geopolitical influence they get from them, but I don’t think Israel is worth enough to the US to make them risk a direct confrontation with Russia.
Worst case scenario, Israel and Iran beat the shit out of each other while everyone else watches from the sidelines, making the occasional, half-hearted demand for a ceasefire. At most, Russia and US will continue supplying their respective friends with bombs and arms to profit off the conflict for as long as they can.
They’ll be so ugly though. I guess it’s ok, cos who needs mirrors anyways.
Don’t confuse authoritarian regimes with fascism. China is an authoritarian state running a diluted version of communism, but it’s not fascist. Russia under Putin is leaning more towards fascism these days for sure, but they’re not fascist outright yet.
Maybe what the hexbear folks gravitate around the most is the idea of authoritarianism. The flavour doesn’t matter as much.
Surprised Ireland didn’t even make it to this ranking.
I take a selfie when I get the haircut I like and show them the picture next time. Nice and easy.
Yes.
