And who, pray tell, voted for the populist shitbags that ushered in the capitist coup that perpetuated fossil fuel and consumerist lifestyles at an accelerating rate and borrowed against their childrens’ and grandchildrens’ futures?

Carter tried to warn them, but it turns out boomers didn’t like being called out on their shit, so they replaced him with one corporate stooge after another.

Boomers aren’t entirely to blame, but they are far from blameless.

  • Yeah, I’m inclined to generally agree with this; what she left out is that now most people can live past 30 now and not die from a bacterial infection after scraping their leg.

I would add that the ideal is likely somewhere in the middle between the extremes of “living off the land and using every part of the bison” and “grinding away your soul until you collapse on the Walmart floor.” Both are too far towards their respective ends of the spectrum.

  • WARMER AND DRIER

In the parts of the country that feel the effects of El Niño the most — western and central Canada as well as the Great Lakes — temperatures over the winter and possibly into spring will be warmer than average.

As someone who lives in the frozen asscrack of Canada, thank fuck. God, I hate winter so much. Shit’s all gonna collapse within a few decades anyway, might as well enjoy what little relief from frigid hell I can get.

edit: not sure what the downvoters are disagreeing with here. That the cold sucks ass or that civilization is heading at light speed towards collapse?

They intentionally choose to handle errors poorly.

Just like they intentionally choose to handle updates poorly, DON’T YOU WANT TO REBOOT FOR THE FIFTHEENTH FUCKING TIME AND LOSE YOUR SESSION WITH 29 PROGRAMS OPEN ACROSS 8 DESKTOPS WHILE RUNNING A RENDERING PROCESS?

Meanwhile, Linux: why yes, I’ll update the kernel in-place without rebooting and keep your 784 day uptime.

  • To be more fair, it should be way easier to use root on Android than it currently is, and it could be done without compromising security.

Like, I shouldn’t have to dig through mountains of unofficial documentation from weird sources, only to the find that, whoopsie, this method doesn’t work for your particular submodel of phone, you have to take this ultra-specific path that’s prone to issues and may not work. Oh, and make sure you backup your entire device, because rooting will wipe it and now you have to spend your entire fucking day restoring everything.

Like, just give me the option to enable root access somewhere in the developer settings. It can even be an obscure (but simple) process like it is to enable developer settings in the first place by tapping “about” a dozen times or something. Put up a half dozen warnings explaining why it’s “dangerous” for mortals to enable root for all I care, just make it work.
