7·4 days ago“Crypto” is such a vague term it’s almost comical to imply it’s private. Sure there are ways to use crypto privately, but it takes a lot of steps.

3·13 days agoJokes on them, my phones stupid fingerprint reader only works about 3% of the time. They’ll get frustrated and give up before finding anything, I know I usually do.
New OS is a waste of resources, but it would be great to see them embrace something like GrapheneOS
I clear them a reasonable amount away from my house, because they may not be litter but they are a fire hazard where I live. But they still get to naturally decompose in dedicated spots.

Thunderbird for Android runs on mobile devices running Android 5 and above.
Who out there is still running Lollipop?! That came out over a decade ago. You can’t even get Thunderbird through the Play Store because Google Play Services dropped support for 5.1 back in July. I have so many questions.

Looks like someone out there had the same idea.
They’re currently selling a packaged system for ~$5k, which is a bit pricey, but maybe worth if you’re full time on the van life. Looks like you could probably fit 2 of these units on a typical roof, obstructions permitting. Alternatively you could do one tracker and one flat unit.
It looks like ground based 2-axis tracking systems can be found for ~$500-1k, you’d just need to bring your own expertise to mount it to the roof and program the controls yourself.
Semi-unrelated: others mentioned painting your van white (which you already have) but I’ll raise you one better - consider painting it with an IR-Emissive cooling paint, e.g., https://i2cool.com/
There’s unfortunately few products on the market at this time, but keep your eyes peeled.

I don’t know folks… It kinda seems like carbon capture might be a scam propped up by polluters who just want to get away with a few more years of destroying the environment to maintain business as usual.
31·18 days agoGrove has become my go-to storefront for general household goods - they have a solid selection of generally reasonably priced jtems, and a strong aversion to plastic. They’re by no means perfect but I feel a lot better with them getting a cut of my money than Bezos.
They’re not going to have the billions of niche items on Amazon, but they’re pretty great for my needs.
Idk why I’m going to bat for the dude, because he’s clearly a tool, but my phone probably has a photo of my SO’s ID if you dig hard enough
Woulda been something like a “I’m buying plane tickets for our vacation, what’s your passport no.” kind of situation. Or her: “left my wallet, what’s my DL# so I can pay this parking ticket”.
Not certain anything is there, but weve been together long enough, I’m not certain it’s not there either.
ETA: Maybe also “were going on vacation, state department recommends keeping a separate copy of our passports in case something happens”
I recognize long term relationship is different from mistress, but still
