Modern CPUs can do all the audio processing you’d ever need (maybe barring some professional use cases like making music or editing a movie).

Audiophile external audio devices are just doing the conversion from a digital signal to an analogue signal.

The noveau drivers don’t work with Nvidia cards on x11 either.

It’s exaggerated but it gets the point across: I too would like to know if AI tools were used to make even part of the image.

There’s a reason any editing is banned from many photography contests.

If they want to make a distinction between “made using AI” and “entirely AI generated”, sure. But “made using AI” completely accurately describes an image that used AI to generate parts of the image that were inconvenient in the original photo.

It’s just marketing.

It’s like how a 7 or 8 out of 10 movie should mean it’s really great, but actually means it was just “ok”.

We like the idea that we are getting something above average, which ends up with a skewed idea of what average is.

They did something similar with Apple Watch and Apple TV and Home Pod and jt worked out well enough for them.

Honestly, if it’s just a small, personal project, just use common sense and take some basic precautions (e.g. use a firewall, use NGINX instead of serving Wordpress directly, etc.).

Note that CloudFlare doesn’t protect you from everything either - it only provides some very specific services. A rudimentary level of caching images being the most common one a free account level would be able to use.

That’s not necessarily true. Detection of the trigger phrase is simple enough it can be done locally. If they are sending all your audio to their servers it’s not because they need to be.

It’s hard to figure out exactly what’s the damage when the contamination is so widespread.

A study to find the effects of the microplastics might be to find some amount of men with microplastics and some without, and follow up with those men overtime to see if the ones without microplastics have less reproductive issues, cancer rates, etc. instead they find everyone is contaminated so there’s no one we can make a comparison to.

Most Nintendo Switch games do this. I think part of why is you might be using a pair of Joy-cons or a Nintendo brand controller with the Nintendo ABXY layout, 3rd party controller with the Xbox ABXY layout, a sideways joycon with ABXY buttons but rotated 90 degrees including the labels, or a sideways joycon with unlabeled buttons.

There’s no way for the game to consistently the way your controller is labeled, but it can know which of the 4 buttons needs to be pressed based on location.

Vanilla Minecraft gets less and less “vanilla” every year.
