How long has it been going? Took me about 5 mins to get their stupid app working to place a pixel. Contributed to the f spez.

Noted. Android. For those IOS users out there, search the App Store for “Memmy for Lemmy” it’s not half bad, and is a native app. Wefwef is probably , maybe, better at the moment but as a web app suffers from lack of control being able to overpower IOS native actions.
Is this an IOS app or android? Sorry for the lack of knowledge. Memmy just released on the App Store and is great for consuming, mod tooling hopefully will follow.
Ah I gotcha. Yep that’s a use case as well. Again I’m not sure if you can do that without an “app” directly requesting permissions / altering default IOS behaviour.
Thanks for the downvote, whomever you may be…
TestFlight obviously hit a limit. But if it’s out in the next day on the App Store… that’s a major milestone with Apple saying it meets all the requirements. Looking forward to it. Wefwef is good, very good, but I recon is going to struggle controlling its actions without the OS taking over. Such as clicking through community links etc. time will tell.
Wefwef also gets stuck on iOS. When backing out of a post. But if you slightly swipe right on a post and stop before it turns into an upvote, it releases and doom scrolling can recommence.
Just started hunting around for memmy. It’s in closed beta but should be on the AppStore in the next 24hrs. Deffo going to check it out. Wefwef is going to have some limitations not being able to control overriding ios actions.
This could be the deal breaker with an app having control its own redirection. It’s very much a pain but I don’t know what could be done. ios seems to think anything with an @ sign needs an email.
You know… my major complaint about wefwef was the font size, you Sir have made my day!!
It’s not him. You can stalk the socials of the wefwef dev. Deffo not the same person.
Why don’t you ask him on Twitter. He used to be quite responsive, though given all the attention he has had in the last month that might have changed. I did tweet him suggesting he record the deletion of the api token and he did that, could have been coincidence.
I’m guessing that it’s been a popular engagement device in the past that they are using it to drive numbers of connected and participating members. Each pixel perhaps represents a post.
Not a bad idea but very short lived. And the outcome will be an f to spez lol. I’ll buy that t-shirt.
