And then there was the Quake 2 engine which gave us Deus Ex, American McGee’s Alice and then (through the modified GoldSrc version) Half-Life, Counter Strike and countless others! The family tree of 3D engines is really interesting.

If Andrew Tate was a Persona character his dungeon would be something else.
It only works if you whistle the theme tune.
But I thought LAME Ain’t an MP3 Encoder?!
Actually I never got that. WINE isn’t an emulator, but LAME very much is an MP3 encoder
Interesting, thanks for explaining!
Right, for some reason I thought it was a binary choice: close at 12 or get the (probably expensive) 24-hour licence.
Is there such a thing as a 1am or 2am licence? I feel it would be better if pubs/bars could just choose whatever opening times they want, it would prevent this “chucking-out time” phenomenon where everyone spills onto the streets with nowhere to go.

Vance faced an onslaught of bad press, as many commentators—including Harris’ step-daughter, Taylor Swift fans, Democratic officials, actor Jennifer Aniston, and several conservative women pundits—decried his comment.
My reading comprehension must be pretty bad because for a second it sounded like Taylor Swift was Kamala Harris’ step daughter.
Sounds like they’re hiding something there and they really don’t want us to go…
Is it that controversial? Kids run around naked all the time. The idea of this bike ride is that people can be naked just for the hell of it, without being sexually objectified. Banning kids from it would fly in the face of that.
When that 10-year-old grows up I imagine they’ll be quite proud that they made a bunch of stuffy town councillors bust a blood vessel just by riding a bike around naked.
To be fair that’s quite a good bit. Adolf Shitler.

Yeah I guess so. But the fact that the police arrested him 2 days before the insurrection, ostensibly to prevent the insurrection itself, and then it happened anyway and everyone seemed super unprepared for it, idk the whole thing seems a bit weird. It’s possible that he’s just outlived his usefulness, but I wonder what was said in those 2 days after his arrest but before the 6th.
I don’t understand the story with this guy. Apparently he was arrested on January 4th, and had been an FBI informant for years: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-proudboys-leader-idUSKBN29W1PE
How is he now getting a 33 year long sentence if we was an informant?
I wish my government kept companies in check a bit more than they do. I live in the UK where all the water companies are owned by hedge funds and they keep discharging raw sewage into all our waterways. I feel we could do well to take back some control from them.
I wish the UK would do the same. At least in the US they learn a bit about slavery - here in the UK we learn nothing about the British Empire and its atrocities. No wonder we have statues of slave traders everywhere.
There’s so much in Infinite Jest, but I think my favourite would be “Blood Sister: One Tough Nun”.
