I thought I would never have to see BSOD after switching to linux, but here we go…
[ tbh, I love that errors are presented much better, just that the name doesn’t bring back much good memories.

Glad that there are govt. level systems who make use of Linux (mostly ubuntu ) systems here. For eg. , in kerala, all govt schools and colleges use linux for computer labs and academic activities, i guess the local body administration too use ubuntu.
Only wish we could convince those private sector schools of the money they’ll save converting those slow windows systems to linux.
I don’t know about graphene, but doesn’t some android roms allow to use custom ( more private Webview implementations) instead of default ?
Probably that if possible, you can link to original article from itsfoss. And possibly for all such news ( unless its overly bloated / behind a paywall )
And i use it with fish :)
First thing i do is disable bitlocker. Its PITA when dualbooting too
It mainly depends on your likes. What i did was to find one or two accounts related to my favourite topic and then checking their “following” tab. It really helps to Fill my feed
Also, most accounts boost other accounts/ post, which also acts as a way for me to discover accounts.
I just had to uninstall “Enhancer for youtube”, and reload the YT page. Not even ubock cache clearing was necessary. ( maybe different for different people )
Right now, this feature is client specific. Some have it ( like Sync ), most dont.
The happy news is , a serverside option to block an instance is already merged and will be available in next (big) Lemmy upgrade 19.0. After that, the client apps will easily be able to implement it ( Now, i guess they are just filtering posts client side if from that instance )
Love the fact that it Feels a lot like Rarbg •ᴗ•
Icon theme : Papirus
Shell and GTK theme : Yaru Dark ( the ubuntu darkmode one )
For cursors, i use the default Adwaita. Even though i shifted from ubuntu to arch 7 years ago, i always liked the orangish theme of ubuntu.
Paywall removed version : https://archive.is/U0kqw
It usually depends on the model. When i tried nous-hermes model, it used approximate ~5GB extra RAM. I use a system with 16GB ram.
Thanks for the video
it would be good If the video was in landscape mode. we could see more file contents and there will be less word breakings.
This PR in lemmy will implement the issue PR #3869. Looking at the thread, the devs have completed the work and waiting for successful testing.
Whatever the devs can do now is only provide a local only solution if possible, because there is no support for it in serverside. So whatever u save, they will not be synced.
There is an open issue ticket in lemmy’s main github repo and are actually happening quite lot of conversations on how to implement it
If what you want to do is “copy all my communities from current instance to new instance”, then there is a tool called lasim.
Or did you mean to backup, like as to save all posts and subscribed users ?
I can see them in inbox, and in case of notifications, they only appear when the client is in foreground.
I can see replies to my comments and posts in infinity. The main issue is now that private messages aren’t implemented. Depending on the speed of developement, it will soon land
For PC’s the whisper can be now run on many common laptops and desktops ( with almost good accuracy ) , thanks to projects like whisper.cpp and faster-whisper.
There also happens a lot of model’s getting released by meta like wav2vec2 and MMS ( not seen using anywhere though )
I guess there are many python packages for aforementioned projects too.
