You described a hypothetical scenario that is the actual scenario we’re already living in. People doing no good (CEOs, investors) are already cashing in and are demanding an oversight on the investment.

3·1 month agoI suspect they do not intensify because parts of Brazil go above 40°C for some time yearly. It would be hard/expensive to keep cattle alive in those conditions.

How do you use these devices responsibly?
I’m having a hard time understanding this. How many hands do you have? How can you use 2 hands to create this effect and still hold a camera?

An USian journalist recently described his health care treatment in Brazil: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/06/29/brazil-health-care-sus-hospitals/
I believe this is a good description of the public health care here. I disagree with his statement on workers’ strike. He didn’t mention that Bolsonaro and Temer (last 2 presidents) reduced spending in public health care which probably impacted the hospital this journalist got taken care.

Technology@lemmy.world•Brazil just banned X. Could other countries follow suit?English
10·1 year agoNo, that’s an oversimplification. The judge has been asking the representatives in Brazil to block some accounts that have been spreading disinformation. The representatives replied to the judge saying they’re just representatives and X/Twitter wouldn’t comply with that request. In Brazil, if you’re the representative of a company, you have to have the power to comply with Brazil’s laws. As they were not complying, the judge gave them extra time to comply and mentioned if they didn’t comply, the local president/director/representative would go to jail. That’s when X/Twitter closed the representation in Brazil.
After that, the only action left available for the judge was to block X/Twitter.

It reminds me of the reaction of the public to 1896 documentary The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat Station. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L'Arrivée_d'un_train_en_gare_de_La_Ciotat
