It’s worse than I imagined, thank you.
A friend of mine who’s a professional singer got told by his former conductor upon firing him, “well, see, if a violinist has a bad instrument he can just replace it. But in the case of a singer, well, it’s just not so easy.” Very roundabout and very crushing.
You the man. I wonder what the other statues look like, did anyone find some more pictures anywhere?
Rules for thee, not for me? *Shocking. *
Oooo. Now that’s something to try.
…daddy?
I think I’m out of the loop here.
Why not? Which person owning multiple companies would be disadvantaged in a way that could be considered unfair in this way?
Oof, you’d think there’d be something we could do if we know there’s a disinformation campaign… It sounds so solvable, somehow.
This seems a horrible way to wake up.
Oof… Man, to live in the US. I don’t envy you guys, though things aren’t really going the right direction here in the Netherlands, either.
Powerful and saddening. It does feel like, as an artist, everything revolves around how good others think you are. I try to go around it by only performing others people’s work, but also then, you’re dependent on those people wanting to work with you or not. Still dependent. Always dependent, as an artist, which is so so heavy.
Isn’t this precisely the “personal responsibility” argument called out in the video? Looking for someone to blame instead of putting that aside and looking for ways to simply making accidents less likely to happen?
I do enjoy these writeups. Really makes the project come alive.
No chance this has also happened in other countries though, right? Right?
Ooo, you can do that?
That’s it. I’m making an ostrich account to put my head in the sand and only subscribe to happy place communities.
