2·1 day agoTrump falls well in line with the Christian tradition of leaders, so much so that he’s king material (“anointed” or a messiah).
He does seem like the nerd that gets bullied by jocks, but that doesn’t make him not fascist. His role is getting more and more like that of Ford a century ago.

People should start using the term “cancel” for this, instead of “repeal”. Conservative cancel culture is a very old tradition.
31·8 days agoDehumanization works because many of the popular cultures around the world treat non-humans terribly. As we’re talking about the “cradle” of Western civilization, we’re talking about pastoralists especially.
In case anyone forgot from autumn 2023:

As others quickly pointed out, God commands King Saul in the first Book of Samuel to kill every person in Amalek, a rival nation to ancient Israel. “This is what the Lord Almighty says,” the prophet Samuel tells Saul. “‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”
The trickle down thing was obviously wrong many decades ago. Now it’s only said ironically.
Not only do the ‘spoils’ at the stock market not trickle down, but Trump is probably going to give a huge tax cut to rich people in his first week as president in 2025. The only way it can trickle down realistically is by high taxes on the rich paired with UBI or federal jobs programs, which isn’t something that Republicans would do. The Private Public Partnership model also favors the rich as the private company owners and executives take most of the gains while paying terrible wages to everyone else. Hence, “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer”.
To be fair, the existence of animal breeders is not fine.
