Yes, and also “can you do me a favor?” “I’d like to do you a favor, but I’m going to need to know what it is before I’ll know if I can do you this favor.”

LPT: Always say yes. Because you are if you have any sort of life. And if what they mention next is actually important you can change plans and you’ll get more of your deserved kudos.

So just always say yes. Nothing bad can happen from it.

Remember it like Ghostbusters. If someone asks you if you are busy… You say yes.

Largely depends on who’s asking. If I have enough contempt for the person, I’ll say I’m busy watching my laundry dry or rubbing rocks together.

Close friends or family, I’ll try to make it work.

If someone ambushes you like this just say yes I’m busy, and after they tell you what they want, you can change your mind. If they ask what are you doing, say it’s personal. They will get the hint or be forced to show their ass they are trying so hard to hide behind their smile.

I have things I can/need to do every single day of the week. I have to decide if what you’re inviting me to is more important than the chores, shopping, exercise, and hobbies I’m planning on.
