Didn’t we used to have to sign the receipt that the store keeps, and they give us a copy to keep for our records?Or an e-signature on an electronic device. Is this still a thing? Or do I just not get out much lately?

Maybe it’s just a restaurant thing. I literally haven’t been to a restaurant since 2023.

Some years ago I managed tech support for some bank branches and did a lot of travel. I was traveling to Colorado and had a standby in New Mexico (or something of the sort) and remember being shocked that I didn’t have to sign my receipt for some food at the airport. Seems that the state legislature had set a minimum that required a signature. It made a lot of sense to me at the time and I’m really glad that everyone else seems to have caught up.
