Ordered cucumber limeade once thinking it would be a refreshing cucumber-tinged beverage and it turned out to be more like a lime-tinged glass of thick cucumber glop. It actually tasted pretty good but the milkshake-but-a-cucumber vibe was just too much.

As a heavily mustachioed and embearded individual I am 100% down with a knife and fork sandwich, I’d eat this for sure.

☝️underrated comment. I’ve been doing remote tech support & customer service for a few years and taught myself to smile whenever I’m typing out a message to a customer. Even though the customer can’t see it, it nudges my head in the right direction and makes the work more tolerable.

When I first heard her on ‘The Lion and the Cobra’ in '87 her voice hit me like a truck, and it left a mark that never went away. She was 100% an artist, never a mere entertainer. Such a loss 💔

Here’s the batch she whipped up a few days ago, it’s pepperoni, “breakfast meat” (sort of like breakfast sausage), and the green chile flavor that I used for the sandwich:

She’s been making it for years and has a lot of different recipes. I think this one is relatively new, I think it was just green chile powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little bit of salt and pepper mixed in with the dry gluten prior to prep. Lately she cooks it in a steamer which somehow gives it a very firm, even texture that works really well for sandwich meats.

Naw, I didn’t use any condiments on the sandwich but it wasn’t dry at all. The seitan and veggies were sautéed in oil so it was a sloppy mess by the time I was halfway through it 😋

My wife made it, she does it all the time as it’s one of our primary proteins. What you’re describing doesn’t sound like seitan to me.
