Since the protests began, one of the subreddits I used to frequent now has an abnormally high number of comments; this might explain why.
We get lots of practice with that during winter months here in Florida.
Some modern Australian music has made it to the world
I’m from the States and love this one:
Only got two points because you made their heads hurt. ;)
Everybody seemed to crash while searching for images on Google.
I’m experiencing this with Q4OS 3 (Centaurus), which under the hood is Debian 10 (Buster) – and with the supposedly more stable Firefox ESR.
(Now using DuckDuckGo as an image search workaround.)
Kind of like an MG, but reliable.
Honestly, it’s mind-boggling how the top 1% have us believing their relentless greed is just the norm and that we’re helpless to do anything about it.
Nothing new; George Carlin was railing against this back in 2005:

Sometimes it’s a matter of necessity:
For tech-weary Midwest farmers, 40-year-old tractors now a hot commodity
I think it’s also a fear of the unknown, kind of like those who are hesitant to move from Windows to Linux. They would rather tolerate garbage because it’s familiar garbage.
Admins and mods will likely be more vigilant about deleted posts and comments at least until things settle, so it might be better to abandon now, then delete later.
Edit: Also, during the blackout many subreddits are still either private or read-only, so their posts and comments won’t be accessible to delete until after these restrictions are lifted.
Speaking of which, it’s time he grows up and behaves like an adult, period. Huffman has the soft skills of a toddler.
Indeed; same “divide and conquer” tactics that politicians often use to retain power.
Huffman said in an interview that he plans to institute rules changes that would allow Reddit users to vote out moderators who have overseen the protest, comparing them to a “landed gentry.”
Wait, what? Huffman himself is “landed gentry”; moderators are among those who have to do the actual work.
.
it looks like the mods are just being dicks.
Business as usual, apparently. I once received an automod notice that I didn’t have enough karma points to post a link. (At that point I had accumulated many karma points, but not in that sub.)
So I messaged the mods and asked what the minimum was, since it wasn’t stated anywhere in the rules. The reply? “Sorry, we can’t disclose that.” Wait, what?
