how much do you want to bet the locks can be opened in less than 5 seconds with a low-skill, non-destructive attack?
This is the lockpicking lawyer and today we’re opening this armoured truck…
As a locksmith, this is a dream come true.
Found lockpicklawyer alt
I wish, but thanks for the compliment.
‘Today we have this armored truck lock.’ proceeds to decode the lock with a tool bosnian bill made in under 2 minutes
Then locks it again to show it wasn’t a fluke
Who are you and how did you get in here?
Im a locksmith and… Im a locksmith
You should study up to become a lawyer too, of the lockpicking kind
Why are you staring?
Nice click out of one… two is binding… false gate on three… aaand we’re in
I remember getting locked out of my 2003 Grand Marquis, and then watching the locksmith open it in about 5 seconds. It was then I realized that my door locks are a very minimal intrusion deterrent.
That being said, I imagine it’s quite more difficult to get back into that vehicle.
Locks are there to keep honest people out. Any lock can be opened given time
They also serve as a social signal. If you unlock something with a key, you are assumed to be the owner of it by bystanders. If you bust out a lock picking-kit and start going to town, you are assumed to be committing a crime by bystanders.
Call a tow truck back to station, they usually have a spare key there.
Yeah, this is more of an ironically embarrassing situation than an unsolvable problem.
Well it happens more often than you think because most armored Cars and Trucks outlook the dore instantly and make openings from outside impossible. A Police department near me made it mandatory for the keys to be attached to the belt with a small chain so its not being forgotten.
Its a little embarrassing but nothing out of the ordinary. Its just insanely easy to do this by accident :/
Best and brightest…
Yeah let’s see McNally toss this one after he rakes it with a single jab LOL
SEPSA!
Imagine if that’s the moment they try to rob you, how do you explain that to your boss.
I did the same thing to our firetruck on a call. We didn’t have an extra set of keys.
Surprised I didn’t end up on a TikTok firefighter fail using a slimjim to get back into the truck.
Yes I’m gonna climb to the top of it that’d help
Many of those trucks have hatches on top either for a emergency exit (when its rolled on the side) or for heavy weapons. So trying to get in there is an option, they aren’t as much armored as the sides, but futile nonetheless.
The lock is the weakest part of the truck.
why do they need this vehicle?
My first guess would be money transport
I’ve seen them a couple times but I’m pretty sure a store can only have so much money on site. When you have a truck that’s visiting multiple of these stores on their rounds would definitely be a target for your ballsy ner-do-well
Because sometimes people get violent with guns/fireworks and it’s quite useful to have some protection?
