Biden had to make the case that he has been successful AND he’s the right person to continue to help people. Which is what both have done.

It’s what Obama had to do in 2012. It was probably impossible to do this election.

Biden focused too much on his accomplishment (which are legitimate), although he wasn’t going to make a eloquent case regardless given his speech problems and his ego.

Harris practically ONLY talked about how she would help people with inflation and other struggles like home buying. But she didn’t make her case well enough (nor do I think she could have).

Option 1, SCOTUS deems that the constitution “isn’t actionable” like they did with the 14th amendment already.

SCOTUS already defied the constitution by allowing Trump to run. People think a third term isn’t feasible for some reason. They’ve also made decisions based on completely theoretical cases. Stopping SCOTUS requires 2/3 of congress which isn’t happening.

Option 2, the president does whatever he wants and SCOTUS simply allows it all to happen as they have consistently done.

What I always hear is that companies will send C&D letters to small ventures, because it creates precedence. Without that, a company loses the right to sue.

I wonder how true that actually is.

They think right of progressives makes them Republican. When it really just makes them a liberal.

If nothing else, save a little for the next vote in 2 years. We can’t afford to lose you.

Exactly, last time the question of “can we just shoot the protesters” was answered with “no”.

This time the answer is “obviously yes”.

The U.S. has performed better than the rest of the world post covid and the people don’t recognize it. The low information voters were always going to choose the guy from when things were good.

In 2016 when Trump supporters were declaring the economy fixed on DAY ONE. Or when Trump supporters were blaming inflation on the inflation reduction act, which was named after the ALREADY soaring inflation.

They’ve been gaslighting Americans for the last 8 years. We overestimated Americans, just like Hillary did in 2016, and assumed they would see the obvious faults in logic.

I’m on board for this. But with current SCOTUS, I don’t think this would hold up.

And if it did hold up, I think they would also determine that state governments could supercede the will of the people in that particular state in ANY situation which is also scary.

I blame the Stein voters exactly as much as I blame the people staying at home. And neither as much as the people who voted for Trump.

I think it’s important to keep your mental health. I try not to dwell on the bad and just know that I did my part along with millions of other people. Even in the reddest state, there are A LOT of rational people.

BTW, I live in a red state so I usually feel like my vote legitimately doesn’t matter. But we got the Chief Justice that we wanted (she wrote the minority opinion that an abortion ballot measure should stay on).

As someone from a red state. I feel this hard. 66% of our population have sweeping control of the government. But that’s still 1 in 3 voters that routinely don’t vote for hate.

I really, REALLY hate throwing “both sides” out there because it’s usually bullshit. But I don’t think there’s a chance in hell that any of the candidates would stop Israel from doing that. There’s barely a slim chance that either of the Dem nominees would have even done a damn thing more than lip service.

Funny, but I don’t think anyone could beat Trump. Low information voters don’t care that his term benefited from Obama’s economy or that Biden suffered from Trump’s. They just want Trump economy again.

The margin lost by, along with the strong campaign run by Harris (the people complaining are the people voting Dem), and Trump’s DISASTER of a debate, makes me think nobody could have beaten Trump.

Centrists have flocked to Trump as the “strong” candidate, they’re low information, they have short memories, and they just want someone they can easily trust/blame for their economic issues.

Not only that, but trans “issues” are in Republican favor when they use scare tactics and not just a questionnaire. They went hard on that in ads because they know it works.

And tried to murder his VP and congress for supporting democracy.

I can’t imagine Palestinians are wrecked by this news. There’s a good chance it’ll get worse, but it’s still fairly ambiguous.

I really wonder how Ukrainians feel though. This is a major win for Russia.
